Born and raised in Terre Haute , Indiana, William Tanoos was formed by the Hoosier values that have helped serve to make America the greatest nation in the world for generations. Taking the virtues of honesty, commitment, and integrity that were instilled in him at an early age by his family, community and the good people of this region, William seeks to represent Indiana’s 8th congressional district in order to get back to the middle class prosperity our country has fought and worked so hard for, and to move forward to an even brighter future.
After graduating cum laude from Indiana University in Bloomington in 2005 with a double major in history and political science, William went on to Indiana University Robert McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis where he received his J.D. in 2008. William then began practicing law, exclusively fighting for disabled clients’ access to healthcare and financial security all across the country. During this time, he also made a feature film, shot entirely in Terre Haute and highlighting the community’s rich labor past and vibrant political culture.
William currently lives in Terre Haute with his wife Katie, young son Jack, and lovable dog Truman. He practices disability law in Terre Haute and Evansville, as well as other areas in and around Indiana. His family have been active members of St. George Orthodox Christian Church for generations.
